Case Study 1:

Executive Employment Offer in the UK

When this global manufacturing company needed expertise
on executive practices in the UK, it turned to Global Rewards
Solutions.

Challenge

The company, based in the United States, wanted to hire a
senior sales executive in London but had no subsidiary in the
United Kingdom. The prospective hire was a citizen of a Middle
Eastern country. If hired, he would be a third country
national (TCN).

The company needed to provide and deliver a competitive
total rewards offer to the candidate. Timing was an issue given
that negotiations were already underway, and our client needed
information quickly in order to move forward.

Solution

We researched the UK market to determine a competitive offer
that was feasible to deliver. The company needed to provide health
care coverage, life insurance, and a stakeholders pension. We validated
the appropriateness of base pay, bonus, and car allowance and created
a package with a “salary sacrifice” component for tax relief tailored to
the candidate's situation.

Results

We discussed our findings with the company and found a
one-stop-shop provider willing to cover one employee. We also
provided appropriate wording for communicating the offer to the
candidate.

The offer was delivered on time and the candidate accepted
the position.
